According to the different minerals density in the silica sand, gravity separation is used to remove the heavy minerals to lower the iron content.
The flotation process is primarily used to remove the iron bearing heavy minerals in silica sand. The minerals are generally the same as the iron bearing minerals described in the gravity section. At times, flotation can also be used to remove mica.
In silica sand mining process, various magnetic minerals are involved in it. We can use the magnetic separator to eliminate the undesired materials.
